Grant interjected hastily, "We need to run some projections through the
tactical comps, come up with a success ratio of the
Sabre actually hitting this star gate."
Kane nodded to him. "Get it done before we reach the navy yards."
Grant, Fand and Baptiste stood up to leave the wardroom, but Kane remained
seated. "Doctor, if you wouldn't mind staying a moment?"
As the other two people filed out, Baptiste eased back down in her chair,
eyeing nun apprehensively.

When they were alone, he asked, "How are you feeling?"
She looked taken aback by the query. With a wan smile, she rubbed her
forehead. "A headache I can't seem to get rid of. I didn't sleep well, either.

One of Baptiste's eyebrows arched. "I'm afraid I don't understand the
question."
Kane smiled at her encouragingly, his gaze not straying from her face.
"Is this about my job performance?" she asked. ' 'I don't think you can levy a
fair assessment so early in the mission. Other than shuttles, I've never been
aboard a spacecraft before."
Kane's smile broadened. "Would you believe that before today, neither had I?"
Her arched eyebrow lowered truculently. "Is this some kind of joke,
Commander?"

release of endor-phins, and the stimulation of neurons in the cortical and
subcortical portions.
