    for me."
Kimi appeared in the doorway and gasped. "Oh God. Is he
    okay?"
"Yes, but I need my med bag, Kimi. Please," Trynt told
    her, eyes never leaving Matt.
She ran from the room, and Trynt squeezed Matt's hands
as his eyes snapped open, tears spilling from them. Trynt

knelt on the bed. He wanted to draw Matt into his arms and
hold him close to comfort him but was afraid that moving
Matt might make the injury worse, and he didn't want that.
"Trynt?" Matt cried out in pain. "God, it hurts! What's
    wrong?"
Trynt held Matt's gaze as he fully woke. "Shh, you tore the
stitches in your side a little while you were having a
nightmare. I can patch you up, but I need you to stay still for
    me, okay?"
Matt nodded, and Trynt let go of his hands. He ran his
fingers through Matt's hair and leant in to kiss him. "It's going
to be okay. I'm here," he comforted.
Matt gave him a weak smile. "You're here."
Kimi set the medical kit on the bed. "Thanks, Kimi. Could
you get me a flannel and a bowl of warm water too, please?"
Trynt asked, not wanting to leave Matt's side.
"Sure," she replied and left again.
"I hate people seeing me like this," Matt said in a near
whisper, eyes downcast as he chewed on his lip.
Trynt cupped Matt's jaw, forcing the older man to look at
him. "Everyone has nightmares, Matt. There's nothing to be
ashamed of," he said in understanding.
    "But Kimi "
"I still think you're the dashing captain who saved my life.
That won't ever change," Kimi said honestly as she walked in
and set the flannels and bowl of water on the nightstand..
Matt smiled as she kissed his temple, then left the room.
"Thank you, Kimi," he called out.

"I still owe you one," she called back, and Trynt knew Matt
would've laughed if he wasn't in so much pain.
"Let's check you out." Trynt opened his medical bag.
He pulled back the sheet and winced as he saw the
bandage twisted and bloodied. Matt was wearing only his
pyjama bottoms, his torso bare, and his injury exposed. "Is it
bad?" Matt asked, his lower lip trembling with worry.
Matt winced as Trynt's fingers gently peeled away the
bandage and he examined the wound. "You just ripped a
stitch or two. It's not so bad," Trynt assured him, trying to
put Matt at ease. Matt hesitantly looked down, seeming afraid
that he'd done serious damage because of his night terror.
Trynt gazed up at him, briefly squeezing Matt's hand. "Really,
it just looks worse than it is. I can take care of it."
"I'm sorry, I should have told you that sometimes they get
violent, and I can't wake up on my own." Matt put his hand
    over Trynt's.
"You've nothing to be sorry for." Trynt ran his thumb over
Matt's palm. "Though I wish you had told me. I wouldn't have
    let you sleep alone."
"I wouldn't have behaved myself," Matt joked as Trynt
rifled through his medical bag, checking to be sure he had
    everything he needed.
"No, probably not," Trynt agreed with a chuckle, knowing
Matt was trying to lighten the mood. "But I'd rather you feel
    good than be in pain."
Trynt reached inside his bag and pulled out the necessary
supplies, cleaning then stitching the wound closed again.
Once that was finished, he dressed the wound and replaced

the bandages. He then dipped the flannel in the water and
cleaned the dried blood on Matt's abdomen.
"How's that?" Trynt asked in concern, fingers lingering
over Matt's tanned skin as he made sure the bandage was
taped securely. He was trying so hard to focus on taking care
of Matt and not stare at his beautiful body laid out before
him. It hadn't helped that Matt had been watching him so
intently, with a look in his eyes that made Trynt want to wrap
Matt in his arms and chase away his terrors so he could sleep.
"Better," Matt admitted, the pain fading from his eyes, to
    Trynt's relief.
"Can you stand?" Trynt cleaned up the mess as Matt
looked at him questioningly. "I thought you wouldn't want to
    sleep on your own."
Matt pushed himself to his feet, wrapped his arms around
Trynt's waist, and buried his face in Trynt's neck, breathing in
deeply as his body trembled uncontrollably. "I don't... I want
to be with you, Trynt," he whispered, barely able to speak as
he fought back tears. "Please make it all go away."
"I'll do whatever it takes." Trynt held Matt close, his heart
filling with affection at the confession. "And I want you with
me. Let's get some sleep, huh?"
Matt nodded and followed Trynt to his bedroom. They
climbed into bed, and Matt wrapped himself around Trynt,
kissing him before resting his head on Trynt's chest,
presumably so he could hear the steady beat of his heart. He
hoped it was a comfort to Matt, who closed his eyes as his
body relaxed and a look of peacefulness settled across his
    face.

Trynt ran his fingers through Matt's hair, lightly scratching
his scalp. He smiled as Matt nearly purred in contentment.
"No more nightmares, Matt. You're safe."
"You here," Matt murmured as he gave in to sleep. "And I
think I'm falling in love with you."
Trynt gasped, almost not hearing the whispered words
against his skin. "Matt?" He ran his hand down the older
man's bare back, watching the muscles ripple under his
touch. "Are you asleep?" The only response he got was Matt's
quiet snores. "I know I'm falling in love with you." [ Pobierz całość w formacie PDF ]
